Methodology

The research team on your side.

You’re an advocate carrying a family who’s counting on you, up against a defense with a research team you can’t afford to match. This page is the plain-English version of how we work for you: what we take off your plate, what people come to us for, the roadblocks we clear, and how to reach a real person when you need one. No dashboard to learn. You send us a facility, and we hand back the worked-up record so you walk in prepared.

You send us a facility. We hand back the record, worked up.

Big law has a team that digs through the federal record in-house. You’ve been doing it yourself: nights and weekends, across a fistful of government websites, hours you can’t bill. That’s the part we take. Send us the home in your case; we do the digging and hand back a record you can walk into a room with.

  1. 1You send us the facility.

Just the name and city, or the CMS number, if you have it. No account to set up, no software to learn. An email does it.

  2. 2We work it up.

We pull the federal record on that home and line it up the way a case actually needs it: the citation pattern, how the staffing looked while your client was there, the penalties, and who’s really behind the building.

  3. 3You get it back, usually within 72 hours.

A private link, yours to read and share with co-counsel. When a deadline is breathing on you, 24-hour turnaround is there.

Honest when the record is thin

And if the federal record doesn’t back your theory, we tell you so (plainly, on the face of the workup) before you spend intake budget chasing it. You’d rather hear it from us now than find it out at deposition. That straight read isn’t a caveat buried in a footnote; it’s part of what you’re paying for.

The questions we hear most

What do people actually bring us?

Different cases, but the questions rhyme. Here are the four we hear most, and yes, we can answer each one about the specific home in your case.

“I know I’ve got a case. Is the record there to build it?”

You already know the family’s story is real. What you need is the federal record lined up behind it, fast (the pattern, the staffing, the penalties, in one place), so you commit the firm’s resources knowing exactly what you’re building on.

“Was the home short-staffed the days my client was there?”

We show how thin the nursing coverage ran, day by day, against what CMS itself expects for a home caring for those residents, with your client’s dates drawn right on the chart. It’s the one answer the free tools can’t give you, and often the one a case turns on.

“Who do I actually name behind the shell?”

The name on the license is rarely the whole answer. We hand you the chain (the operating company, the property holder, the management company, and the owners disclosed to the government) plus the sibling homes run by the same management, each carrying its own record.

“Keep an eye on this home for the years my case runs.”

A case can run two or three years. We watch the home’s federal record across that whole stretch (a new inspection, a new penalty, a change of owner), so you’re the first to know when something moves, never blindsided across the table.

When you hit a wall

The roadblocks, and how we clear them

These are the walls that actually slow a case down. Here’s how we take each one off the table.

The wall“The record’s thin.”

How we clear itWe tell you straight. If the federal record doesn’t back the theory, the workup says so on its face, before you pour intake budget into it. An honest read is worth more than a hopeful one.

The wall“The owner’s hidden behind a shell.”

How we clear itWe hand you the chain: operating company, property holder, management company, and the owners disclosed to the government, with the dates each one was in the picture. Where an owner stays behind an anonymous LLC the government never captured, we flag it as a lead to run down, not a finding, so you know exactly where the paper trail ends.

The wall“I need it this week.”

How we clear it72 hours is standard. When a deadline is on top of you, 24-hour turnaround is there (rush priced on request). You send the facility and keep working the case; we do the digging.

The wall“I’m not sure it’s a case yet.”

How we clear itYou know the family who came to you is real. What you need is the federal record behind them. The workup lays out what that record holds, so you can commit the firm with confidence instead of guessing.

Talk to a human

Questions? Here’s how we help.

No ticket queue, no phone tree. When you have a question, you reach a person, usually the founder.

Email us

Just email us.

Send it to pro@elderfacts.com. No account, no sales sequence: a real reply from someone who knows the work.

Screen-share

15 minutes with the founder.

Want to see it before you commit? Ask for a 15-minute screen-share and we’ll walk your actual case, not a canned demo.

Corrections

If a number’s ever wrong, tell us.

We publish about real homes, so we take mistakes seriously. Flag anything that looks off and we fix it, and we date the fix, in the open.

Need the sourcing and definitions behind a number for a specific citation? We provide that on request.
